FAQ

Whether you’re a long-time yogi or just starting your journey, we want to provide answers to any questions you may have. If you have a question that is not answered below, feel free to contact us or visit us in person.

Is this your first yoga class?

Welcome and we are so happy you chose us. The Yoga Nook is a safe, inviting space for you to learn and explore the world of yoga. All our teachers are yoga certified and here to support and facilitate your yoga journey. We recommend not eating a heavy meal 2-3 hours before class (especially flow or heated classes). Please try to arrive 15 minutes early so we can show you around and help you get comfortable in your first class.

What can I expect?

We will have a sign in procedure when you enter and have cubbies for your belongings and shoes. We recommend removing your socks when you practice to keep from slipping on your mat. Let your teacher know you are new so she/he can show you around and help you with sign in, etc.

What should I wear?

We want you to feel comfortable. Most practitioners wear workout clothing such as leggings and tops. If you have long hair, you may want to tie it up during class.

What if I can’t do the poses?

Yoga is meant to be a lifetime practice of discovery. We give you full permission to alter or skip any or all the postures. Our belief is that yoga should serve the body and not serve yoga. Our desire is to provide a safe environment for you to explore poses and their variations/modifications.

How do I schedule?

We utilize a system called FitDegree for all class registrations. Go to our Schedule & Sign Up or Home page to find the link to get connected to FitDegree.

What do I bring?

IF you have a mat, bring it along with water and a small towel (especially if you are taking a heated class).  We will provide any necessary additional equipment.
